Hokkaido—Blazing Sun of Japan

If you are planning to visit Hokkaido, go to the most convenient and hassle-free site where you can find furnished apartments in Japan – KaguAruoo. Search, pick and rent furnished apartments online. No key money, no paperwork, no security deposit, no guarantor and no broker’s fee.

Hokkaido, the northernmost of Japan’s main islands, is known for its volcanoes, natural hot springs, and ski areas. Rugged Daisetsuzan National Park is home to steaming, volcanic Mount Asahi. Shikotsu-Tōya National Park contains caldera lakes, and geothermal springs. The best cities to visit in Hokkaido would be:

Sapporo

The island’s capital may be one of the most underrated cities in Japan. Home to the eponymous beer (a museum has been dedicated to it), expansive sculpture parks, and delectable regional cuisine such as soup curry and jingisukan (grilled mutton), there is plenty to see and eat in Sapporo. And of course, there are markets to visit. Nijo Market is the most accessible from downtown, but if you want to shop with the locals, head out to Jyogai Ichiba for a more authentic experience. While you are at it, make a trip to Shiroi Koibito Park to see how the confectioner’s famous cookies are made, and snack on some outrageously delicious white chocolate soft serve after picking up a few sweet souvenirs at the shop.

Hakodate

Island nation’s first port to open to foreign trade, so you’ll find a lot of international influence in Hakodate. Stroll through the steep hillsides of Motomachi district where you will find several European-style buildings (like the former British Consulate or a Russian Orthodox church) before making the trip to Mt. Hakodate for incredible panoramic views of the city, followed by a visit to the bay where a group of red-brick warehouses have been transformed into a shopping center, making it a perfect spot to pick up souvenirs.

Otaru

Otaru is particularly known for glassware and music boxes, but if you’re going to make a trip to this small harbor city, make sure to grab lunch at Wakadori Jidai Naruto Honten, where you’ll have some of the best fried chicken you’ve ever sunk your teeth into. Walk off your meal along the Otaru Canal before you turn onto Sakaimachi road to do a little shopping at the number of shops that line the street. Make a stop at Rokkatei for their Marusei butter sandwich (where two biscuits sandwich a thick slab of cream with raisins mixed in) and Kitakaro for a supersize cream puff. If ever you are thinking on which place to visit in Japan, make sure to add Hokkaido to that long list as one of the go-to place to relax and enjoy mountainous sceneries and springs.

Where to Stay?

Finding a place to stay for a long term basis in Hokkaido is easy but the problem is that a lot of accommodations are already taken or you may need to travel from one place to another in order to just find a place to stay. If ever you can find one online, you still need to travel in order to settle the paperwork you need in order to stay in an apartment on a long term basis. However, it is easy to eliminate these problems with KaguAruoo.

KaguAruoo offers something that others do not have, a way for the landlords and the tenants to communicate and process transactions in the most convenient way. You can directly communicate with the landlord through their in-app messaging so having no Japanese contact number is not a problem. All transactions are also processed through the website such as the payment and the contract signing.

The website is also very foreigner-friendly as most of the landlords can also speak English and KaguAruoo itself have their own English Support Team. So if you are looking for an apartment to stay wherever in Japan, KaguAruoo is your place to go.
